556 - Galvanized frame / Aluminum blades - Rear flanged 10"-60" Maximum velocity 2500 FPM

The Model 556 is a COUNTER BALANCED rear flanged vertical mount automatic exhaust shutter. It is designed to allow horizontal airflow in one direction and to prevent reverse airflow while providing protection from environmental elements when the airflow stops. The blades open with airflow and minimize the wear load on the fan motor and close by gravity when the fan shuts down. Counter balanced blades allow the shutter to be mounted vertically to 45 degrees and has flanged ends for added weather protection. Ideal for direct-drive or belt-driven exhaust fans. Do not use with vane axial or tube axial fans.

Standard Construction:
Frame: 2-1/2" deep (under 24") or 3" deep (over 24") x 1-1/2" flange x .037 gauge G-90 Galvanized Steel with integrated weather stripping for strength and weather protection.
Blades: 26 gauge 3105 Aluminum with a Galvanized reinforcement strip across top of blade for strength and counter balancing.
Seals: Felt on leading edge of blades for tight closure and quiet operation.
Tie Rod: Center mounted Galvanized Steel for uniform opening and closing.
Bushings: 304 Stainless Steel pivot pins, rivets, and bushings.
Construction: Tabbed and Tog-L-Loc corners.
Mounting holes: 9/32" x 1/2" slotted.
Finish: Mill

Minimum: 10" W x 10" H
Maximum: 60" W x 60" H

Performance Criteria:
2500 FPM Maximum Velocity.
1" wg Maximum Pressure.
180 degree Maximum Temperature.

Options:
Motor pack (Model MTR-556 or MTR-885 - see submittal dwg.)
Gusset plate (up to 36") attached to the back of the shutter.
Manual pull chain operator.
Polar white finish on the blades.
Custom sizes available in whole inch increments.
Additional tie rods for added stability.

We recommend mounting the shutter at least 1/3 the fan diameter away from the fan blade.
